This certainly qualifies as an intense encounter!  Certainly Laisha is not one to have an adversarial encounter with.  Worse, she's suspicious of Ks'nbosh and his alliances.  This is exactly the sort of pitfalls that can happen when one gets big fast, or gets big at all.  But staying small means risking being eaten by the competition as well.

The fight between the black orc thieves, and 'our heroes' was interesting even as it was brief.  The bizarre and intimidating Dunwelf, Dell, and the ozcura and goblins leaping to defend their wacked out Kanov supervisor and company assets was impressive.  Being appropriately respectful and well spoken to Laisha and her walking court was a major score!  It put Ks'nbosh's operation on a good first impression basis even though that meeting started out poorly.  Actually, it started out with great potential, potential that was seized upon by Dunwelf and the relative obedience he engenders.

Laisha walking through the city keeps her in touch with her reformed and gutted city.  She's not playing  a spy game anymore, but a resource management game!

Ks'nosh's sober presentation, and clear sophistication in slave training.  He's an orderly subject that Laisha probably wants more of.

But, no matter how charming and brilliant he might have been, he'll likely always be seen as a clever, but ill educated hustler.

The plan for mixing up the ethnic races in this fashion is interesting as well.  It's really quite effective to take disparate folks and force them to cooperate by punishing and rewarding all for their shortcomings and success.  Each member of the 'cell' tempted to spy on other members?  It'll be interesting to see this in action.

The goblin leader who sometimes gets lost in conversations during the planning sessions in how he gets lost in discussions.  But he's there, and that's important.  It keeps the goblins in the 'program' to cooperate with everyone else, and everyone is needed.
